Guide

Trip Info

The Great Barrier Island is a rich eco-system fed by the East Auckland current that travels through the famous Poor Knights and Mokohinau Islands. The sub-tropical climate creates temperate waters, and with it’s volcanic history, there is plenty to explore underwater. This chain of islands is 40 km long and 15 km wide, providing a vast variety of dive sites, which makes it an ideal destination for scuba diving. You can also explore a number of shipwrecks, including the SS Wairarapa.
