Gokyo trek is also known as the best view point trek in the Everest region of Nepal. Gokyo Ri (5340m) is the best viewpoint to explore the astonishing view of Everest and the neighboring peaks that are listed among the fourteen 8000 meter peaks. Shimmering scenery of lakes, glaciers, and rocky landscape are all incredible.
Gokyo valley trek is one of the exciting packages of Nepal Hiking Trek. We are always dedicated to lead you to this surprising land. Sagarmatha National Park covers this stunning area which is a shelter of diverse wild animals, flora and the airborne peaks. After a short and picturesque flight from Kathmandu, your trek begins from Lukla. Following the main trail of the Gokyo valley, you move on with enjoying the incredible views of White Mountains as Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and others along with the longest glacier of Nepal – Ngozumba glacier. Even the traditional Sherpa settlements on the high altitude welcome you with a perfect hospitality. Namche Bazaar is one of the marvelous settlements that you will explore during the Gokyo Lakes trek. It is neighboured by the ancient villages. Walking over the higher altitude, the trek becomes tougher. Nepal Hiking Trek recommends you to trek to the Gokyo valley in spring and autumn. They are the perfect seasons to trek as you can explore the beautiful Himalayas and the breathtaking alpine scenery.
Chhortens are the symbols of the cultures’ beliefs and they are highly influenced by the Tibetan Buddhism. Following the trail with glaciers and moraines, you reach to the Gorakshep and hike to the Everest base camp and Kalapatthar one after another. This part is located over 5000 metres, so your walking should be guided by your physical fitness and acclimatization. Nepal Hiking Trek recommends you to have some extra days on the Everest base camp trip. It is because the weather changes in no time in mountain region and Lukla is the only one option to take a flight from there. It helps you not to miss your important things/flights.
