Trip Info

Cast your line in the deep waters in hopes to land a giant bluefin tuna! Your fishing tour will be lead by a local and experienced captain who has been hunting the giant bluefin tuna for 29 seasons.

Gloucester Massachusetts is the giant bluefin capital of the world. The Atlantic population spawns in the Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean and feeds as far north as the Arctic Circle, making it one of the long-distance champions among migratory fish. The herring and mackerel spawn off teh shores of Gloucester, therefore, making it the true giant bluefin tuna capital of the world.

The tour starts a couple of hours before daylight and ends around dark. Once you meet up with your fishing guide, you will board your home for the day, the Subdivider. It is fully equipped with a full bath and shower, full kitchen, sleeping quarters for six, heating, and air conditioning. You will find it is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art 130 reels and top of the line rods to give every angler the best chance possible to land a giant bluefin tuna. The gear used is the same gear used daily to fish giant tuna commercially. All you need to bring is food and drink and Captain Johnny and his crew will take care of everything else.

We don’t get a giant tuna every trip, but the tour produces sights you’ve never seen, smells you’ve never smelled, and stories of the adventure that live on for a long time to come.
