Trip Info

The aim of this tour is to give you an idea, as complete as possible, of what the life of a Roman through different centuries could have been. Rome had a secret: it’s the first time in human history that a population developed the idea of being no longer just a city, or a Federation of cities like in Greece, but a nation, a common Res Publica, a State with the same currency, the same laws, the same language!

We will spend 3 half-days together visiting and learning about all of Rome, from the Piazza Venezia and Circus Maximus to the Coloseum where we’ll imagine gladiators and wild animals fighting. On day two we’ll learn about medieval and spiritual Rome and we’ll visit a number of sites including the Pantheon, the best preserved Roman Temple of all pagan Gods, which was later transformed into a Christian church.

On day three we’ll learn about the Renaissance, Baroque and Modern Rome. It will start in the Vatican Museum and then we’ll see most of the Palaces, Churches, Squares and Monumental Fountains built by the different Popes and Cardinals to show the other leaders of Rome and of the rest of the world the power achieved by the Papacy and by some of the roman families.

Published cost is for one of these three half-days of 3-4 hours and is a flat rate for a maximum of 4 guests. Guests booking all three half days will have a 30% discount on the third one.
