The Gallipoli campaign, also known as either the Dardanelles Campagin or Battle of Canakkle, was a battle which took place on the Gallipoli peninsula in World War I. It is regarded as a defining moment not only for Turkey as a nation, but the Ottoman Empire as well.
You will be met at your Canakkale hotel by your tour guide and driver, who will transport you in a private air-conditioned vehicle to the Gallipoli peninsula. With the ferry we will cross the Dardanelles, the historic waterway that was the principal objective of the Gallipoli campaign. Your guide will first give a detailed brief about the WW1 and campaign at Achibaba Panoramic view point on Helles sector, followed by visiting the S beach and V beach with on site explanations. Following the Helles sector, you will visit places made famous by courage and sacrifice, including Anzac Cove, Beach Cemetery, Shrapnel Valley, Lone Pine, Quinn’s Post, the Nek, Chunuk Bair and more.
