Trip Info
Rhodes Guided Fly Fishing – clients stay in comfortable accommodation in the village of Rhodes. Rhodes is situated in the remote part of the Southern Drakensberg in South Africa and considered the primary wild trout destination of the country. Clients are guided on some of the finest small streams targeting wild trout and indigenous yellow-fish on dry fly and nymphs. This area has more than 9 different little streams and rivers to choose from and access is possible on more than 100 km of river frontage. A guided day is packed with adventure and fly fishing fun. We also access some dams in the area where clients have the opportunity of catching trophy trout.
Your adventure awaits!
Linecasters is South Africa's Premier Fly Fishing Guide Operation since 1995, specialising in stream fly fishing for trout and indigenous small and largemouth yellowfish, still water fishing, fly fishing for tigerfish and salt water species. Principal guide Fred Steynberg has fished for the South African National Team and is a R.E.F.F.I.S qualified guide. We consider ourselves fly fishing purists within the sport and endeavour while searching for trophy specimens, to teach our clients and to have a blast!

Peter Hibbit – :
I had a fantastic day fishing the lower Kraai for yellows. Fred is not only and an expert guide but a real pleasure to fish with. He is patient , incredibly knowledgeable and always working hard to find the fish.He taught me a lot about the technique of fishing for yellows and as a result I caught alot of fish in difficult conditions. Altogether a great experience
