Enjoy a horseback ride through the Fond D’Or Nature Reserve in beautiful Saint Lucia. Learn all about the ancient people, the way they lived, worked and celebrated.
You’ll follow your knowledgeable guide through the Mabouya Valley and the banana community of Bexon, as well as over the rolling hills of the Barre D’Ilise with breathtaking views along the way. You’ll learn about the origins of the ancient Caribbean and Latin American mythology as you travel through the riding trail.
The two-hour riding trail goes through the ancient ruins to the Interpretation Center Museum for a breathtaking view of a carved image of a Lion and head of a Tribal Chief. It then meanders through a forest of coconut palms to the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy 1000 feet of sandy beach and see the nesting ground for the Leatherback Turtle. Continue through the rainforest where you will view the abundant wildlife. Along the way is a banana plantation which stretches for miles into the ruins of the old sugar mill.
