Trip Info

Looking for an adventure that takes you beyond the activity and into the beauty, history and culture of the location? This two-day rafting tour gives you the opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful rivers in southern Chile, the Puelo. You will be guided by an expert team of locals who will introduce the landscape and culture.

Our trip from Puerto Varas takes us in the direction of the city of Puerto Montt to take the route of the Carretera Austral. You will enjoy seeing the beaches, coves, islands, birds and lush vegetation as we travel through Pelluco, Chamiza, Piedra Azul, Metri, Lenca, up to Caleta La Arena, where we take our first ferry. We cross the Reloncaví Estuary to Caleta Puelche and continue to Puelo. From here, we will take the junction that leads to Lake Tagua Tagua for another ferry crossing. We head through the towns of Puerto Santo Domingo and Llanada Grande until we reach the river. Your Class III trip will begin with a 30-minute float. We then will travel through a narrow canyon that increases to reach 10 meters wide with spectacular rapids that will continue down the river about two hours, about 17 km, mixed with pools of still water. Our rafting tour ends in the area of Puerto Santo Domingo where we will have dinner and camp.

In the early morning after breakfast, we start our way back taking another route to enjoy the spectacular scenery that shows the Reloncaví Estuary, continue our way through the field of Ensenada and to Puerto Varas.
