Guide

Trip Info

Lake Balaton is the largest natural lake in Central-Europe and offers an unparalleled viewing experience from the air. The lake itself is 77 km long and takes about 25 minutes to fly across from end to end. During the flight we will encounter an other unique lake, Lake Velence, just midway between Budapest and Siofok, the Eastern capital of Balaton. Flying over the Balaton offers nothing but unique sightseeing experience including the Hungarian Riviera and the Tihany Peninsula with the Benedict Abbey from 1054 a.d. Venturing further west we will set our eyes on the volcanic hills of the Balaton Highlands with the Badacsony hills. We will have a chance to land at the Siofok airport. The airport has a great restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Alternatively, a taxi can take you to the city of Siofok, the largest settlement around the Lake. You can add a sailing adventure to your trip by renting a boat and crew at Siofok. Please let us know if you would like help in adding a sailing portion to your trip.
