Trip Info

Day 1: Fes to Merzouga via Ifrane, Midelt and Atlas Mountains (480 km)
Make your way through the Middle and Higher Atlas Mountains. Stop at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous Cedar Forest, the largest in Morocco. Look out for Barbary apes! We will continue on to Midelt, passing through the Ziz Gorge. Notice how the scenery changes to desert as you approach Errachidia. Make your way to Erfoud and Rissani, followed by the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Merzouga area and camel trek
After breakfast, begin an explorative journey of the area, followed by a camel trek and a night in the desert. Visit the Gnawa people and learn about their music and lifestyle. Next, we will visit Merzouga Lake, with its bird population. In the afternoon, mount your camel and make your way into the desert.

Day 3: From Merzouga dunes to Fes (480 km)
Wake up early in the morning and watch the best sunrise of your life. Trek back to Merzouga village and then make your way back through the dunes of Erg Chebbi to Fes.
