Enjoy exploring Saigon city, its places of interest, shopping and the famous Cu Chi underground tunnels on this multi activity tour. This visit offers an experience of overnight stay on the bank of the Mekong River and in the famous Mekong Delta. Take a boat trip joining in an early floating market to see how people exchange goods, fruit and many other commodities on their vessels. Cycle from village to village on bike paths, over monkey bridges to get in touch with local people and enjoy the Southern Vietnam traditional music performance.
Arrive in Saigon to a warm welcome by your guide and driver at the airport. Transfer to your hotel while your guide gives a welcome speech to give you information about the city of Saigon. After check in, you will have free time to relax, and then your guide will see you again for a welcome dinner at the Bonsai cruise on the Saigon River.
In the morning, you will have a private tour visiting famous attractions such as the Reunification Palace, the Municipal Theatre, the City Post Office, the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the War Remnants Museum. You can also walk through the city’s main shopping boulevard with fashionable boutiques and hill tribe crafts, high quality linens and house wares. In the afternoon, we drive to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, very famous in the wartime with its underground meeting room, kitchen, food, weapon caches and hospital. This underground complex played a major role in the Vietnamese winning the war and is a must-see when you are in Saigon. You are invited to crawl around in the safer parts of the tunnel system or try a shooting range where you can fire a number of assault rifles, such as the M16 rifle or AK-47, as well as a light machine gun like the M60.
Today, you will drive to Mekong Delta, known as Nine Dragon River Delta, surrounded by thousands of crisscrossed canals. Upon arrival to My Tho, you will take a sampan motorboat on the Tien River to the Thoi Son, Unicorn, islet. Follow a village path passing local houses, visiting some family-run coconut candy mill, take a horse-cart from village to village or enjoy a sampan rowing along small canals. Enjoy lunch with local dishes and experience southern Vietnamese folk music, a common art activity in the Mekong Delta performed by local people. Return to your hotel in Saigon for overnight stay.
The next day, enjoy your free time at your hotel or you can do your last minute souvenir shopping before transfer to airport for your flight home.
