Trip Info

I am an independent personal tour guide based in Sofia. I work with small groups, maximum four people, in order to give exclusive service to each of my customers. I am fluent in the English and Spanish languages.

The itinerary for this private tour of Bulgaria includes many popular attractions and all seven of Bulgaria’s UNESCO cultural properties. You will also meet local families, visit lost mountain villages and explore ancient ruins.

On day one, you will have a city tour of Sofia. We will visit churches, centers and museums. In the morning, we will drive to Koprivshtitza before continuing on to the village of Oreshak. Enjoy spectacular scenery as we drive through one of the most beautiful mountain passes in Bulgaria, Beklemeto. We will stay overnight in a local guesthouse where you can enjoy some typical home cooked food and homemade drinks.

The next day, we depart to Veliko Turnovo, the medieval Bulgarian capital. We will visit the small village of Gumoshtnik, known for being the only place in Bulgaria with a monument of Titanic. We will also visit an open-air museum featuring typical Bulgarian crafts, the small picturesque town of Tryavna and the heroic Dryanovo monastery. In the evening, enjoy the unique “Sound and Light” show over the Tzarevetz hill.

On day four, we visit the hill of the Bulgarian kings, a walk around the Old Crafts street and Arbanassi, where you can see some of the most exquisite monuments of Bulgarian art. Drive to the Roman forum of Nicopolis ad Istrum, Ivanovo Rock Monastery and overnight in Ruse.

In the morning, drive to the Thracian Tomb in Sveshtari, Demir Baba Teke and the Roman town of Abrittus. We will visit Madara Horseman and “The Stone Forest” on our way to Varna for an overnight stay.

On day six, enjoy a Varna city tour and visit the Romanian Queen Castle in Balchik. In the morning, depart for to Nessebar for an Old Town tour. We then continue the trip to the quaint village of Jeravna for an overnight in a typical 300 year-old house.

The next day, we leave for Plovdiv with stops along the way to some of the tombs in the Valley of Thracian Kings including the famous Kazanlak tomb. Enjoy a pleasant afternoon walk along the labyrinth of cobbled streets shaded by charming overhanging buildings in Old Plovdiv.

On day nine, have a mountain drive through the back roads of Southwestern Bulgaria on our way to Doabrsko village. In the morning, we will visit Rila Monastery before departing for Sofia.
