Trip Info

Why spend all the money climbing Mt. Everest when there is an easier way to see its lofty summit? A Mt. Everest Helicopter Tour is the ultimate way to see the roof of the world!

The journey begins as the helicopter leaves Tribhuvan International Airport and flies to Mt. Everest. The journey follows the backbone of the Himalayas until reaching Mt. Everest. The flight circles the mountain for an incredible view, and then returns to Kathmandu. This tour offers landing opportunity to Kalapathar view point for 5 minutes and sighting opportunity around Gokyo Valley. The total duration is 4.35 hrs flying time and may stop 45 minutes to Everest view hotel for breakfast & few minutes to refuel at Lukla airport.

The climb up to the summit of Mt. Everest is expensive, cold and very difficult. It takes nearly two months to make it to the summit and return. But there is an easier way which actually offers a better view of the world’s highest mountain.

The Everest Helicopter Tour is the perfect way to see Mt. Everest & its base camp. Every day, the helicopter takes off from Tribhuvan International Airport and flies eastward, following the backbone of the Himalayas. It passes over a number of ranges as well as within sight of several of the highest peaks in the world before coming to Mt. Everest.

The chopper circles the mountain, giving everyone a 360◦ view of the mountain. From inside a warm helicopter, the summit and various sides of the mountain become visible. The helicopter allows for some excellent photographic opportunities.

The return trip follows the mountain ranges back to Kathmandu. There are wonderful valleys, quaint mountain villages and terraced farms to see. The helicopter can fly close to these places, offering additional photo opportunities.

Note: It is a private trip and the given cost for up to 5 pax.
