Everest base camp trekking begins with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a popular mountain airstrip at an altitude of 2,800m in the heart of the Khumbu Region. Then, we start around a three hour walk to our first stop at Phakding. The next morning we continue our trek north up the Dudh Kosi Valley to Namche Bazaar, quite a hard day, where we spend a day for acclimatizing, good food and accommodation. From Namche Bazaar we gradually push up at our own pace to Kala Pattar and spend overnight in Dingboche for some side trips and further acclimatization. After some spectacular close up views of Everest along with Nuptse Lohtse and Mount Pumori from Kalapattar and Everest Base Camp we descend to Namche Bazaar for overnight stay. The next morning we continue our trek to Lukla to catch the next day’s early morning flight to Kathmandu.
