Trip Info

Everest Base Camp Trekking trail will pass through the Sherpa villages which are interspersed with magnificent forests of rhododendron and magnolia. And the trail begins from Kathmandu to Lukla flight and then Lukla will be the starting point for our actual trekking. You will get a chance to visit the famous viewpoint Kalapatthar which is located at the altitude of 5550m during this trek. In addition to Mount Everest we will also enjoy the stunning views of Mount Lhotse, Mount Nupse, Mount Pumori, Mount Lingtring, Mount Thamserku, Mount Ksumakagru, Mount Amadablam, and many others.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arriving in Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport), a Cold Feet representative will meet you and help you transfer to your hotel by private bus. Enjoy a free evening to explore Kathmandu and recover from your jet-lag. Meet the Cold Feet staff during a short pre-tour briefing before dinner.

Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu valley and preparation for the trip
A full-day guided tour around Kathmandu city’s historical and cultural landmarks. Visit Bouddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, the most important sites of Buddhism and Hinduism in Nepal. Catch the playful antics of the monkeys and beautiful city views at Swayambunath temple. Get lost in Kathmandu’s old city bazaars, public squares, and former royal palaces at Durbar Square.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, and trek to Phakding (2610m/3½ hours)
Early in the morning, we fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2810 m). The flight takes about 30-40 minutes to reach at Lukla. Then, we have to make the final preparations for the trekking. From Lukla, we have to trek downhill to Phakding (2610m). In the evening, if we have time, we will explore around the Buddhist monasteries and monuments. We will stay overnight at lodge at Phakding.

Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/6 hours)
Today is going to be the challenging day for us. Following the Dudh Koshi river, the trail gently starts to rise though rhododendron and magnolia forests with giant fir trees to the village of Jorsalle. Jorsalle is our Sagarmatha National Park entry point, where we have to show our trekking permits and TIMS. After a brief stop-over for lunch, the climb proceeds towards Namche Bazaar. Passing through the Sagarmatha National Park area, we will reach at Namche Bazaar finally. Namche bazaar is a delightful mountain town and so-called ‘Sherpa Capital’ of Solukhumbu.

Day 05: Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and visit Khumjung Village
Today, we devote our whole day for acclimatization or we can visit around the Khumjung Village and Everest View Hotel to see the wonderful views of the Himalayas including Mount Everest.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3860m/6 hours)
After breakfast, we start our trek with pleasant walk trail through the forest with magnificent view of mountains until Kenjoma and the trail goes downhill towards Phungi Tanga. After reaching at Phungi Tanga, we have our lunch. Then, we climb uphill around 2 hours to finally reach at Tyangboche which is the highest monastery in the world. From Tyangboche, we can have the magnificent views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nupse, Amadablam, Thamseru and Khantega.

Day 07: Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche (4360m/6 ½ hours)
After breakfast, the trail descends down from Tengboche through the rhododendron forest to Dengboche and crossing a bridge over the raging Imja Khola. After having lunch at Pangboche, following the Imja Khola we gradually move uphill until we reach at Dingboche.

Day 08: Acclimatization Day at Dingboche
Today will be the acclimatization day at Dingboche. You can have a full day rest or hike around the near places like Nagarjun Peak (5073m), Amadablam Lake (5200m). Also, we have the choice to hike up to Chukung towards Island Peak.

Day 09: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4930m/5 hours)
After your complete acclimatization, the trail heads you to gradually climb up until Duglha. After having a tea break, we climb up to Duglha Pass which is the beginning of Khumbu glacier. Then gradually walk uphill to Lobuche where you will be able explore Khumbu glacier from where you can even see the Everest Base Camp which is our ultimate destination for tomorrow.

Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep and EBC (5367 m/10 hours)
Today will be the longest day of our entire trek. So make early morning start, and our trek continues gently to climb and sometimes direct ascent to nearby glacier and moraine. Following this trail will finally bring you to Gorakshep for our breakfast. After the breakfast, we continue our trek to EBC with packed lunch. EBC offers you the beauty of Khumbu Icefall on the base of the tallest mountain in the world. Again, we have to return back to Gorakshep today.

Day 11: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5545m) and stroll back to Pheriche(4240m) 8 hours
This days trek will take you to Kalapatthar from Gorakshep. After arriving at this small rocky peak Kalapatthar, you will be enjoying the amazing panorama of Everest, Nupse, Lhotse, along with Khumbu Glacier. Kalapatthar is top-of-the-world finest photographic viewpoint. Then we stroll back to Pheriche, in Imja Valley.

Day 12: Trek from Pheriche to Namche (6-7 hours)
Today, you can feel easier heading downhill to lower elevation from Pheriche. The walk is pleasant all the way to Namche via Tyangboche. And we will stay here at Namche tonight.

Day 13: Trek from Namche to Phakding (2610m/4 ½ hours)
After breakfast in the late morning, the trail goes down through forest with pine, rhododendron, Jupiter, and some few magnolia and birch trees with a great memory after crossing the highest suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. Then, we reach to our final check point at Jorsalle. After an hour and half, we reach at Phakding to stay overnight.

Day 14: Trek from Phakding to Lukla (3 ½ hours)
After a long walk, we will have short last day trek to Lukla today. After 3-4 hours of trekking we will reach at Lukla. This will mark the end of our trekking to EBC. You will have the farewell dinner party with Sherpas and Guides.

Day 15: Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu
Today, we will fly to Kathmandu from Lukla. After arriving in Kathmandu, you will have time to shop around or explore Kathmandu Durbar Square in the remaining time. You will enjoy your final farewell dinner in Kathmandu with Guides and Company members.

Day 16: Final Departure from Kathmandu
A Cold Feet representative will accompany you to the airport to catch your returning flight. We hope to see you again soon!
