Trip Info

One of the world’s most inspirational and spectacular journeys, the Everest Base Camp trek offers intrepid visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a unique, one-of-a-kind experience in one of the world’s most revered and awe-inspiring locations. In close proximity to four of the world’s tallest peaks, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and Cho Oyu, Everest Base Camp is a geographical attraction, dynamic cultural exchange and spiritual haven, thanks to a thriving Buddhist presence and diverse international community. With colorful prayer flags adorning the campsite and stunning views of the Himalaya mountain range, the atmosphere is both majestic and magical in this sublime natural haven.

Travelers interested in joining this alluring, renowned trek will begin their journey with a scenic flight through the Himalaya mountains to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. Upon arrival, group members will begin their expedition to Everest Base Camp by traveling through Sagarmatha National Park, a rugged and breathtaking landscape that showcases the deep rivers and massive glaciers carved into the terrain. After a steep climb, travelers will be greeted by friendly faces in Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Sherpas and a quaint oasis in this stunning landscape.

Situated at roughly 3,440 meters, this vibrant community hosts several lodging facilities for trekkers, as well as stores where extra provisions can be purchased. With one day of rest before the climb resumes, visitors are given the opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of the Sherpas and the diverse landscape of surrounding areas while giving their bodies the time needed to properly compensate for higher altitudes. Following this brief period of relaxation and acclimatization, the trek will resume, passing verdant alpine forests, roaring glacial rivers and sacred Buddhist temples en route to the next location of interest, Kala Patthar. From this vantage point, it’s easy to understand why Mt. Everest and Sagarmatha National Park have gained massive international appeal.

This is more than just an adventurous trek – it’s truly an unforgettable life experience. After arriving at Everest Base Camp, group members will have the opportunity to explore their new surroundings and relish their achievements before traveling back to Lukla and embarking upon a return flight to Kathmandu. The Everest Base Camp trek is highly recommended for those looking to explore new vistas and cultures in one of the world’s most captivating natural settings. This unforgettable trip will leave you with a lifetime of memories.

We look forward to guiding you!

Detailed Itinerary of Everest Base Camp Trek
Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu Airport and meet our airport representative then transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel
Upon arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport, our staff will wait for you with a private vehicle and will transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Depending on your time of arrival and whether you are tired or not, you can go around in the tourist hub in Thamel and do some shopping or just enjoy the busy streets of the city. You will stay at the hotel overnight and prepare for the big adventure waiting for you in the following days.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2804 meters) from Kathmandu, trek to Phakding (2610 meters) 3 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.
In the morning our staff will pick you up from your hotel and drop you at the domestic terminal at the airport where you will board on a flight to Lukla (2804m). The duration of the flight is very short (a bit more than 30 minutes) but many travelers list it as one of the highlights of the trip. The airport in Lukla has a short runway which makes the experience a true adrenaline rush. The flight is safe so all you have to do is enjoy the ride and be amazed by the splendid views of the Himalayan range (including Mount Everest) from up above. After the short flight and a break we will proceed with a short trek to Phakding (2610m). The trek is almost always downhill and it’s the perfect way to get you started for the long days of trekking that await you. In Phakding you will spend the night at a trekking lodge.

Day 3: Arrive Kathmandu Airport and meet our airport representative then transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel
We will rise quite early and have breakfast at our lodge, upon which we will start walking to Namche Bazaar (3441m). This will be our daily routine for the duration of the trek. Walking in the morning is always better as it allows us to reach our destination early in the day, enjoy spectacular views of the mountains (which are always better in the mornings) and not feel time pressure. The trail to Namche Bazaar is quite steep and it lasts for approximately 5 hours, but nonetheless enjoyable as we will walk through dense forests and exposing ridges. Namche Bazaar is a small hub in the Everest region and a charming little town. If you feel like doing some shopping for mountain gear or Sherpa handicrafts, you can do it in Namche. We will stay in Namche overnight at a trekking lodge.

Day 4: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day. Or Hike to Syangboche Everest View hotel to observe close view of Mt. Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku, Lhotse and back to Guest House. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Today’s day is solely reserved for acclimatization that is a must in order to proceed to Everest Base Camp. However, acclimatization almost never means sitting around and doing nothing (unless of course you are too tired from the previous days). It is always advisable to move on the acclimatization day which will allow your body to get used to the altitude better. There are many day trips that you can take in Namche’s vicinity. One of them is the short hike to Syangboche Everest View Hotel where you can enjoy a fantastic view of Mount Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku and Lhotse. After this we will hike back to our lodge in Namche and stay there overnight.

Day 5: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters) 5 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.
After breakfast we will start walking to Tengboche monastery – an endeavor that will take us around 5 hours. Situated at an altitude of 3,867 meters, this Tibetan monastery is the largest one in the Khumbu region. It lies in the village of Khumjung, surrounded by the Everest mountain range. Upon arrival, you will be able to enjoy the serenity of this holy place and its surroundings. Moreover, you will have the chance to learn more about Buddhism. In the night, we will stay at a trekking lodge.

Day 6: Trek to Dingboche (4350 meters) 6 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Today’s destination is the village of Dingboche, lying at an altitude of 4350 meters. The trek usually lasts around 6 hours. Dingboche is a small village of the Sherpa community famous for its magnificent views of the Himalayan range. After a tiring trek, we will be able to relax and enjoy those views. We will stay at a trekking lodge for the night.

Day 7: Day hike to Chhukung valley (4710 meters) and trek back to Dingboche. 4 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.
This is our second and last acclimatization day on this trip. In order to keep our bodies up and moving, we will hike to Chukking valley and enjoy the experience being completely surrounded by mountains. Going there and back to Dingboche takes 4 hours meaning you will have enough time to rest and prepare for the next couple of days.

Day 8: Trek to Lobuche (4910 meters) 5 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse
Today’s trek will lead us to Lobuche (4,940m) – one of the last overnight stops until Everest Base Camp. Lobuche is surrounded by several peaks that bear the same name, making the trek into the village spectacular. In the night we will stay at a trekking lodge.

Day 9: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365 meters) then back to Gorak Shep. 8 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Today is certainly the most exciting day from the whole journey. Starting early in the morning we will be headed to Everest Base Camp. The trek to the Base Camp is a magnificent experience in itself, but once you are there, you will feel like you are on the top of the world. We will stop at the base camp for a longer break, where you can take photographs, meet fellow trekkers and perhaps talk with some of the mountaineers headed to Mt. Everest. It is one of the most multicultural experiences in the world, that too on such a high altitude! After a great day at the Base Camp, we will trek back to Gorak Shep where we will spend the night at a trekking lodge.

Day 10: Hike up to Kalapatthar (5555 meters) early in the morning then trek down to Phiriche (4200 meters). 7 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.
One more day of adventure! Today we will trek to Kalapatthar (5555m) which offers the best sunrise views of Mt. Everest and then trek back to Phiriche (4200m) where we will stay overnight at a trekking lodge.

Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters) 6 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Today we are beginning our descent to Lukla, stopping at Namche Bazaar for the night (6 hours).

Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2804 meters) 6 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.
We will start trekking back to Lukla where we will stay overnight at a hotel.

Early in the morning we will catch a flight to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu you will be free to roam around for the rest of the day or relax in one of the many cafes and restaurants in town. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 14: Leisure day in Kathmandu or this spare day is necessary incase flight cancel from Lukla to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel
Depending on whether we had to wait or not at the airport in Lukla, you will have this day as a free day in Kathmandu to explore the city and the valley. Overnight at a hotel.
