This nine-day heritage tour will give you a better sense of the heritage and culture of the people of the country. You will experience many activities that will give you a hands-on look at the Armenian daily life. You will also see spectacular views of the beauty of the landscape as you travel through the country.
You will be met by your guide driver and begin the tour at the Khor Virap monastery and royal prison. See the legendary Armenian mountain Ararat. Enjoy a wine festival at Areni Village and a visit to Noravank monastery. We will have lunch at Aghavnadzor. You will have a jeep transfer up the Tsakhats Kar monastery and King Smbat fortress. We will spend overnight at the Vayk Hotel.
In the morning, we will experience, Tatev, the world’s longest aerial tramway to the monastery. A must stop is the Tatev Gorge and Devil’s Bridge. We will walk to Tatev Hermitage and spend overnight at Christy Hotel in Goris.
Day three will begin with a visit to Karahunj, an Armenian stonehenge. Explore the Jermuk spa city and waterfall. Enjoy a walk around Kechut water reservoir. A visit to the Gndevank monastery will end our day. Relax overnight at hotel in Jermuk.
Explore the region the next day at Selim Pass and Caravansaray. See the Noratus Cross stone cemetary. You will be amazed at the view of Lake Sevan, a pearl of Armenia. We will visit Hayravank monastery before stopping overnight at Blue Sevan resort.
After breakfast, you will tour Dilijan city. Take part in workshops at Shamamberyan street. Visit fairy tale monasteries Haghartsin and Goshavank. We will walk to Lastiver desert to see waterfall and caves. Enjoy an overnight in Dilijan.
Day six will have a tour of Akhtala monastery and fortress. A special visit of Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries will show why they are listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. See the amazing views as we walk up to the Kayan ruined fortress. We will stay overnight at Laguna Hotel in Vanadzor.
The next morning will begin at Aparan bakery. Explore the Amberd fortress remnants on the slope of Aragats Mountain. Seeing Armenian alphabet and cross-monuments will follow a visit to Saghmosavank monastery and Kasakh Gorge. Unwind overnight at the hotel.
Explore Yerevan city the next day. This tour will see the Matenadaran history museum, Mother Armenia memorial, the opera house, Northern Avenue and Republic Square. You will have time to visit the Qum Market of fresh and dried fruits, Dad Levon’s Divine and underground before spending overnight at a family guesthouse.
Our last tour day will see the Hripsime monastery and Echmiadzin, a holy centre of Armenian Apostolic church. Explore the Garni Pagan temple and Geghard Spear monastery. You will be treated to a farewell dinner from a master class famous Armenian chef at Ararat Hall. You can spend overnight at a Yerevan hotel or transfer to your next location.
