This bus tour is conceived to reach all the places from Romania related with the life of Vlad the Impaler, nicknamed Dracula. The start point will be Budapest International Airport where the minibus will pick you up. We shall visit the wood monasteries from Maramures, which are UNESCO monuments. See Barsana, Budesti Josani, Desesti, Ieud Deal, Plopis, Poienile Izei, Rogoz, Surdesti and the castle of Dracula at Piatra Fantanele. Enjoy exploring the fortified churches in Transylvania of Biertan, Prejmer, Saschiz, Valea Viilor, Viscri and the fortified medieval town of Sighisoara where Vlad the Impaler was born. See the Dracula Castle from Bran, where the Briam Stoker novel action takes place, the Fortress of Poienari where the former inexpugnable castle of Dracula witnessed a lot of medieval fights and the castle of Hunedoara where Mathia Corvin jailed Vlad the Impaler. We will see a lot of memorable history places from Romania.
You will be picked up from Budapest airport for a visit of Oradea Fortress, built in 1113, and the secession style center of the city. We will then go to Cluj-Napoca where we shall stay overnight. The next day, we shall travel to Napoca, Bârsana, Budesti Josani, Desesti, Ieud Deal, Plopis, Poienile Izei, Rogoz, Surdesti and Piatra Fantanele. We visit the wooden churches at Maramures, all of which are UNESCO monuments. We stay overnight at Dracula’s Castle at Piatra Fantanele.
On the third day, we see Piatra Fantanele, Bistrita, Reghin, Targu Mures, Sighisoara and Saschiz. Today we are visiting Sighisoara, an architecture jewel and the birthplace of Dracula. We will have our accommodation in Saschiz at a medieval fortified church. In the morning, we travel to Biertan, Prejmer, Valea Viilor, Viscri and Brasov, the fortified churches from Transylvania that are all UNESCO monuments. We shall visit the Black Church at Brasov and Poiana Brasov, a very well known resort of Romania.
On day five, we visit Dracula’s Castle at Rucar and continue to Cimpulung, Curtea de Arges, Poienari Fortress and Horezu, a UNESCO monument and masterpiece of Brancovenesc style. The next day, we travel to Rimnicu Vilcea, Sibiu, Corvin Castle, Salina Turda and Cluj-Napoca. The main aim of today is seeing Corvin Castle where the Hungarian King Mathias Rex jailed Vlad the Impaler. Another attraction point is the salt mine at Turda.
You will return to the Budapest airport the next morning.
