Starting with Beaux Arts, Italian Renaissance and transitioning to Art Deco, you will view the architectural history of Los Angeles by walking the Financial District, Historic Core and Broadway Theater District of the City Center!
This walking tour kicks off with a visit to the Wilshire Grand, a 1,100 ft skyscraper currently under construction. Located in the Financial District, this building will not only be the tallest building in Los Angeles, but the tallest building west of the Mississippi River as well! This tower is being built with the plan of reviving the Wilshire Grand’s image as an icon of Los Angeles and revitalizing the Figueroa Street corridor.
Next up on the walking tour is the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. Countless celebrities have stayed here throughout the years, including presidents, over the 90 years it has been open. This is about as upscale as hotels get! As it is just steps away from the L.A. Live entertainment complex, it won’t be a far walk to check out. You will be blown away by its elegance. Keep your eyes peeled for some celebrities walking through the doors!
It’s time to check out a different side of Los Angeles! We will walk to the Los Angeles Public Library. It is one of the largest publicly funded libraries in the world. Built in 1926, it has been a staple among Los Angeles landmarks for decades. Over the years, it has won several awards for its cultural, educational, and social contributions to society.
The last stop on this walking tour is the U.S. Bank Tower, a massive skyscraper, which at 1,018 feet, will soon be surpassed in height by the Wilshire Grand Tower. Standing 73 stories tall, it is easily the most recognizable building in Los Angeles.
