Discover the hidden treasures and secrets of Delos on this four-hour private tour – an educational and entertaining way to explore an ancient Greek city.
You will meet your guide near the town hall in Mykonos city. You will then take a boat ride to the island of Delos to begin the tour. Our first stop will be the Agora of the Competaliasts where you will learn about the historical background of the excavations on the island. Walk through ancient shops and workshops as we make our way to the House of Dionysos. This 4th century B.C. building has mosaic decorations and mythological compositions.
The House of Cleopatra is nearby and is the famous location of the Cleopatra and her husband Dioskourides’ statues. The House of the Trident has various mosaics and the frescoes still on its walls. As we climb to the nearby theatre, we will have magnificent views of Delos. We will then explore the House of the Dolphins and the House of the Masks.
As we walk along, Mount Cynthos stands in front of us. You can choose to climb the challenging hill or visit the temple of Isis and the Egyptian quarter before descending to the Museum.
The Sacred Lake is the perfect place to stop and learn of Apollo and Artemis. You will also enjoy seeing The Lions monument before heading back to the boat. Along the way, you will see the temple of Artemis and Apollo, the statue of the god and the Sacred Way.
