Trip Info

Spend the day exploring the largest religious monuments in the world, along with nearby temples. This is truly sightseeing at its best! A tour guide and driver will meet you at your hotel at 5 a.m. to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat. It is worth losing sleep. Once the sun is in position, explore the ancient temple’s architecture and sculptures.

A breakfast picnic is in order, before continuing to discover the pink sandstone and carvings of the Citadel of Women temple. Visit the Tomb Raider Temple which is covered with carvings peeking out of the roots of the jungle trees. Try the local cuisine at a nearby restaurant for a lunch break.

In the afternoon, explore the temples within the Khmer Empire’s capital, Angkor Thom. In each corner of the ancient city is a shrine built of sandstone. The southern gate will find human faces carved in stone and stone smiling faces in the Bayon Temple on the grounds. Take in the detail of the Baphuon, Royal Enclosure, Terrace of the Elephants and the mountain temple inside Royal Palace. At dusk, watch the sunset over Angkor Wat from atop Bakheng Hill.

Last stop on the tour is a must see for every visitor, the Apsara Dance show. Feast on a Khmer buffet dinner while entertained by a ballet-inspired Cambodian Culture Show.
