    Meet at the Co-op parking lot in Innisfail, close to the Tim Hortons at 5:45 to fill out waivers, get food, etc. The guide leaves at 6:00. If people would like to carpool with the guide, he/she charges $25 per person. If you would like to carpool with others, please be considerate and help cover costs.

    Included: Guided hike, interpretation, client care. Taxes included.

    Not Included: Meals, transportation, gratuities. Required: A day pack, lunch and snacks, 1-2 litres of water, ID and wallet, rain jacket with hood and rain pants, down jacket or fleece warm layer, warm hat/toque, gloves/mitts, personal first aid/medications/blister kit, sunscreen, sunglasses, and lip balm (with SPF). Recommended: 1 or 2 hiking poles, hat with brim, small foam pad (for sitting at breaks), bug repellent, gaiters, umbrella or poncho, camera.

Trip Info

Although often done as a backpacking trip, this day trip will provide you with one of the best views of Lake Minnewanka that you can find, anywhere.  The first leg of the trip will be fairly easy, and the moderate ascent up to the lookout will be well worth the sweat getting there!  This trip will be an exciting conclusion to the spring/early summer hikes, and will be a prize for those who have spent the time and effort on previous hikes preparing.
