Learn first-hand about the Bhutanese culture on this heritage tour. You will explore the background of one of the oldest, most carefully guarded and well preserved cultures in the world. It is so sacred to the people of Bhutan, the Bhutanese government has made it mandatory for all Bhutanese to wear only their national dress in public to avoid being influenced by the West.
This cultural tour will include visiting dzongs, monasteries, temples, palaces and other important historical sites. Upon arrival at Paro airport, you will be met by your guide and given a sightseeing tour of Paro. In the morning, we will travel to Thimphu for a day of sightseeing.
After breakfast, we hike to Cheri Monastery to gain a better sense of the culture. On day four, we head from Thimphu to Punakha for an afternoon of exploring. We will have a more in-depth look at the region the next day. The following day will see us drive from Punakha through the Wangdi Valley to reach Phobjikha.
In the morning, we spend time sightseeing Phobjikha before heading to Trongsa for more sightseeing. On day eight, we travel to Bumthang. After breakfast, we will have a local sightseeing tour. The next day, we return to Paro. On day 11, we will hike to Taktsang.
On the 12th day, you will be transferred to the airport for departure.
