The Little Lucian Cooking School is designed in a relaxed setting for your complete enjoyment….the island way. Set your internal clock to island time and be prepared for a culinary adventure which will excite your taste buds and leave you tingling all over! Join us at our rainforest location at Babonneau for our Creole Park Cooking class led by local Chef Herbert C Evans with a tropical garden tour and let the adventure begin! The only culinary training our chefs have is at the apron of their grandmother!…and that means authentic delicious food. You will join local Chef Herbert and cook in a traditional open-air kitchen made of bamboo, twigs, stones and cook on traditional vessels made of volcanic clay.

The Little Lucian Cooking School

Join us for Authentic Cooking Classes at a Creole Heritage site that will immerse you in the culture and cuisine of Saint Lucia. Herbert C Evans is the quintessential ’Little Lucian’ and a true ambassador for Saint Lucia. An accomplished yachtsman and seaman who literally knows every nook, cranny and snorkeling spot on the island. His passion for cooking came at a very tender age when he sold his food on the street corners, often amazing others with his broad knowledge of traditional ingredients and its preparation, dishing out authentic cuisine to delighted patrons. Growing up in an extended family with few male role models, Herbert learned the true Saint Lucian way of cooking from his grandmother and his mother, both housewives whose meals kept the family together, most times from ingredients found in the surrounding hillsides. Channeling his skills, his cooking sessions come with historical facts to back his claims – some too surreal to be true! But, true to form, Herbert would soon have his critics speechless before the class is over, as he regales them with stories from his childhood. You will find yourself enchanted with Chef Herbert's sincerity and charm. Why not experience the true Saint Lucia from a real son of the soil?
