Trip Info

The view of the statue of Christ the Redeemer on top of Corcovado Mountain is the most complete and most mind-blowing of Rio’s hills. This place is the landmark of the city, the entrance to South America, and one of the major sights in the world. Our car tour will descend from this view point, passing through Santa Teresa — the neighborhood of the artistic boheme, with its charming Mediterranean cottages, romantic mansions, studios for crafts, and the home of the most famous restaurant for Brazil’s national dish, feijoada. On our way downtown, we stop at the decorated stairs by the artist Selarón and the old aqueduct of Lapa.
