Trip Info

The community tour is a unique sightseeing experience that will take you into the Townships of Cape Town. This tour offers tourists the chance to enrich their experience in South Africa by coming into contact with everyday local people. During your tour, you’ll have the chance to visit and get involved in any community projects in the area of your interest.

The Townships offer great cross-cultural experiences and are highly educational. You’ll visit Langa, Guguletha and other townships where you’ll meet up with a local guide and do a walking tour, visit a home and perhaps a creche or orphanage. On Sundays, a half-day Gospel Tour is offered, a thrilling real African experience. If your tour requires a stay-over, accommodation will be with an African mother in the family home to experience the real African hospitality.

Many projects are offered in the townships including education and welfare, sport projects, arts and crafts and food and garden programs. Volunteering for any of these will make a huge difference in Cape Town. You’ll be helping to narrow the gap between rich and poor and have a unique, once in a lifetime experience.
