Guide

Trip Info

During this guided tour we will walk throughout the Historical Center of Coimbra, former capital of Portugal, getting to know Portuguese History and the Classified World Heritage Area, recognized by UNESCO in 2013. There are 29 classified buildings and lots of things to speak about during this visit, so we will combine information both from Material Heritage… and Immaterial Heritage (we’re former students of this University, so we know all about that first-hand!).

Points of Interest:

♠ Coimbra’s downtown

♠ Coimbra fado, Academic Tunas, Academic “Hazing”, Anti-Motion, Rasganço, “Burning of the Ribbons”, “Party of Cans”, among others!

♠ Student Republics

♠ Church of Santa Cruz

♠ University Campus and Classified World Heritage Buildings (from the XV, XVII, XVIII and XX century)
