Trip Info

A few kilometers from Rome out of the chaos of Rome, we find the two beautiful towns of Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio in the countryside of Lazio and of Umbria. This delightful one-day private tour is ideal for those who want to spend a quiet day relaxing.

The tour starts at 8:00 a.m., from your hotel in Rome or from Civitavecchia Port. After about two hours of driving, we arrive in Orvieto. At this wonderful medieval town, perched on top of a hill, you will visit the magnificent and famous Cathedral of Orvieto, built in the 14th century by Pope Urban IV. The construction began in 1920 and lasted 300 years with his style of Romanesque Gothic.
After the visit to the Cathedral, we visit the Pozzo di San Patrizio, an ancient military fortress. There are 248 steps to get to the end of the pit where you can throw a coin. Orvieto is also very famous for the typical Umbrian cuisine and the excellent wine and Trebbiano Grechetto. Your driver will recommend a good restaurant where you can enjoy a great meal. You will also have a good opportunity to visit the ceramic workshops.

Upon the return of just 30 minutes from Orvieto, we visit the characteristic Civita di Bagnoregio. It’s a small medieval village, which clings to the precipice of a hill surrounded by a beautiful valley. Here, we find no traffic as it can only be reached on foot along a walkway suspended in the air. It’s home to about 20 people and every day there are many tourists who come from all over the world to admire this fantastic village, built by the Etruscans on a tough hill. You can take beautiful photos as a reminder of the dying city and shop in the boutiques.

At the end of your tour, the driver will take you to your hotel in Rome or to the cruise ship in Civitavecchia.
