The best way to understand the local heritage and history is to walk the city. We will introduce you to Port-of-Spain, our capital since 1757. It is mainly a retail and administrative center with one of the largest container ports in the Caribbean.
Along the sightseeing tour, we will stop at the National Museum. Established in 1892, it showcases the history of the Carnival festival, life during World War II and local artisans displays. Enjoy the art galleries and view historic buildings along the path. Everyone loves animals and the Emperor Valley Zoo is a special stop. It was opened in 1952 with the name referring to the vast emperor butterfly population of that time. It now has more than 200 species of 2000 animals.
You will be amazed at the city’s largest open space, the Queen’s Park Savannah. It is also the world’s largest traffic roundabout. Nearby, a Botanical Gardens tour is popular as it is one of the oldest in the world. It was created in 1818.
The tour will continue on to the Lady Young Road lookout where you will get a beautiful panoramic view of the city to conclude the day.
We look forward to guiding you!
