The park was created in 1973 and expanded over 932 sq km in the southern part of Nepal. Besides being home to the most popular animals such as the one-horned rhino and Bengal tiger, the park has many rare species of birds and provides amazing scenery and sunset and sunrise conditions.
Safaris in the Park are available throughout the year, although the best animal viewing time is between January and March.
