  • With over 192,000 acres of water and a maximum of five boats on the lake at one time, guests rarely feel crowded
  • Plenty of opportunity to fish for Arctic Grayling
  • We don't keep track of all the ‘shakers' that are caught. It is the trophies, the huge, monster lake trout that we are after
  • Getting you to the fish doesn't take hours; there are a number of great fishing spots within a few minutes boat ride from the lodge
  • This is the land of the midnight sun and in July the sun barely dips below the horizon

Trip Info

For just a few glorious weeks we offer exceptional fishing for trophy lake trout – our specialty at Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge. Many people think that lake trout are not a hard-hitting, hard fighting fish; this is a common misconception. They are probably the most hard flight freshwater fish. This misleading perception is a result of fishing this species in deep water using heavy weight and/or down riggers – a recipe to take the life out of any fighter. We, on the other hand, fish for lake trout between 15 – 25ft. all season! Why? Because we are located approximately 40 miles from the Arctic Circle where the water temperature does not warrant the fish to go deeper. Fishing trophy lakers from this depth is nothing like you’ve experienced before! Be ready to test your strength and stamina!

Since we started providing fishing trips over 25 years ago, managing our resource has been one of our top priorities. That is why we initiated a barbless hooks catch and release policy from the start (of course, we make exceptions for those unforgettable shore lunches and northern dinners). Our policy also tests your ability as an angler and it puts the ‘sport’ into sport fishing. Get ready to set your hook and keep a tight line to reel in that trophy laker!
