Led by an expert Moroccan guide, you will see both these cities through the eyes of a local.
This day tour begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city. We will immediately take you to the city’s most important sites which will give you the best introduction possible to the history of Casablanca. We will begin by visiting the Hassan II Mosque, the largest in all of Morocco and the 7th largest in the world! In addition to its beautiful Moroccan decor, its minaret rises a staggering 210 metres and is large enough to accommodate a 105,000 worshippers in the hall and on the grounds combined.
Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, is home to several notable heritage sites. We will begin by visiting the the Hassan Tower, the minaret of an incomplete mosque. Originally intended to be the world’s largest minaret, construction stopped in 1199 due to the death of sultan Yacub al-Mansour. It is now an UNESCO World Heritage Site. After understanding the historical significance of the tower with help from your guide, we will make our way to the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and his son Hassan II, an Alaouite dynasty architectural masterpiece. The last portion of this tour will be dedicated to visiting the 12th century Kasbah Udayah. The famous Kasbah was once the departing point for armies leaving to conquest Spain as well as a gathering point for pirates. Afterwards, we will explore the medina of Rabat to get a taste of the local flavour!
We look forward to guiding you!
