Your guide will have already bought all the ingredients in the morning, as most of the fresh spices are only available in the early morning. Visit the local Sanur markets, interacting with the Indonesian people and developing an insight of the daily life in Bali compared to Western supermarkets. It is a unique education about the people, local produce, shopping tips and a little bargaining in the process.
On returning to your guide’s home, it’s sleeves up, apron on and the fun really begins. In a relaxed homey setting, you will be shown the art of grinding, slicing, dicing and blending the unique foods and ingredients that have been used for hundreds of years in Indonesian cuisine.
