What was once a place to avoid is now a thriving site, attracting locals and tourists. Brixton is a vibrant colorful part of the city due to the people that live here. Here, you have a great mix from around the world with a very strong Jamaican, Portuguese, African and South American influence.
This private tour will highlight the street food, African and Chinese markets, a skate park, an inspiring graffiti hall of fame and a proactive art scene with amazing murals from the 1980s to present day.
Everyday, you hear music on the street such as steel drums, reggae tunes blasting or gospel singers singing. Whatever is happening, it’s always fun to walk these streets. We will also visit Brixton Covered Market and Village.
Visit the Stockwell Hall of Fame to see incredible graffiti writing. See great murals and street art throughout Brixton. We will visit the David Bowie shrine and his birthplace. You will be amazed as we visit the recycled shipping container village as well.
We will learn of the immigration of the area as we stroll through the area and taste the food. Try a traditional Portuguese tart, eat Jamaican food or have great coffee or Moroccan mint tea. Drink a locally crafted beer and try arepas and empanadas at a hidden gem.
