Trip Info
If you love bird watching and documenting various species, this is a tour for you! As an ornithologist, my nature tours uncover the most spectacular birds you will ever see. More than 450 species of birds have been documented in this area.
Meeting at a prearranged place, your tour begins at Lake Nakuru. The lake water is barely visible for the continuously movement of thousands of pink flamingos. Depending on the water and feeding conditions of the lake, you may see even millions of pink bodies dancing along the shallow water. If you wish, a trek to Baboon Cliff will give you the best viewing of all of these birds. Other species that draws bird enthusiasts here are the pelican and cormorant.
This location is also the home of a national park and a bird sanctuary. While scouting for birds, you will also have an opportunity to spot residents such as the eastern black rhino, the southern white rhino and the beloved giraffe.
The more commonly known birds such as doves, owls, osprey and herons will be seen in an abundant amount. There are many exotic birds such as the stork, the ostrich and the African Gray hornbill to be spotted as well. The endangered species of the White-backed vulture and the Gray-crowned crane may also be seen as the park tries to increase the numbers.
Your adventure awaits!
