  • Palace Square, historical square surrounded by highly evocative edifices and monuments, such as the former Royal Palace; this is where the modern history was made – opportunity for a brief overview of the history of Romania
  • Revolution Square, where the communist dictator Ceausescu held his last public speech (short account on the Romanian 1989 Revolution and of the overthrown of the dictator)
  • University Square, the heart of the city and the most representative public place in Bucharest, home to emblematic buildings and sites of memory that we will talk about (The National Theater, The University of Bucharest, the 21 December 1989 Square, Sutu Palace etc)
  • Stroll around The Old Town – the historical nucleus of the city, a pedestrian area now a fashionable entertainment district full of cafes, restaurants and nightclubs (lunch break)




Trip Info

This is a comprehensive, substantial Bucharest tour that takes you through the city’s past and recent history, and to all relevant monuments and sights. The tour is a combined walking and sightseeing tour, with a relaxed walk around the downtown and transfers by car. You will enjoy a guided visit of the widely known House of the People, and plenty of insights into Romanian history (including communist and recent history) and local culture. Refreshing break at one of the cafés or restaurants in the Old Town, perfect occasion for discussions and people-watching.
