Trip Info
Enjoy discovering something new as you explore something old on this walking tour around Berlin. Our walking tour begins at Berlin’s new Central Station Hauptbahnhof and ends at Checkpoint Charlie.
We will explore the Government District to gain an insight on how the modern departments have grown over the years. One of the best-known landmarks of Germany is the Brandenburg Gate. It is an 18th-century neoclassical monument in Berlin.
A special visit will be made to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. The Holocaust Memorial has an attached underground information place which has the names of approximately three million Jewish Holocaust victims, as in accordance with the Israeli Museum Yad Vashem. We will also learn more at the Topography of Terror. It is the former site of the Gestapo and SS Headquarters.
See Potsdamer Platz, an important public square and traffic intersection in the centre of Berlin.
Our tour will wrap up at the location known as Checkpoint Charlie. The western allies gave this name to the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin, during the Cold War. Here, discover objects used to escape over, under and through the Berlin Wall and read the stories of those escapees who risked their lives to win their freedom.
Your adventure awaits!
