The Belgrade Highlights Tour, as alluded to by its name, introduces you to the very best of Belgrade. It is a city that some compare to London, and is the only other European capital where one can get a full course dinner at 4:00 am! Belgrade is a diverse, vibrant city, rich with history, scattered with heritage sites throughout. While it is difficult to give you a comprehensive picture of the capital city of Serbia in three hours, we will take you to the places that no visitor can leave the city without having seen!
We will pick you up from your hotel, and we will drive through the newer quarters of the city. We will walk through Kalemegdan, the ancient fortress of Belgrade that guards the joining of the Danube and Sava rivers. We will move on to the New Royal Palace and the Old Royal palace, which now is host to City Hall and the office of the Prime Minister.
Stroll through the Dedinje neighborhood and take in the sights of the villas and embassies. You will also find the memorial for Marshall Tito, The House of Flowers. We will walk down Kneza Milosa Avenue, the backbone of the city, where embassies, public buildings and bombed ruins co-exist.
We will visit the St. Sava Orthodox Cathedral, the largest of its kind in the Balkans and quickly becoming a landmark of the city, despite being unfinished. Because we cannot enter the cathedral, we will pay a visit to the Patriarchy church, so we can see a Serbian Orthodox church from the inside.
We will kick back and relax in one of the many cafes that line the Kneza Migaila Street, the shopping street of Belgrade. Take a moment and enjoy a Turkish coffee!
We will then drop you off at your hotel, or any other location in the town, depending on what you would prefer!
Your adventure awaits!
Hello dear friends, and welcome to Serbia and Balkans! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zlatan Ilic and I work as a private guide in Serbia for many years now. Actually, I have been working in tourism industry almost for all my life. I have been practicing guiding both abroad and in my motherland of Serbia. This practice gave me lots experience and allowed me to understand what the expectations of a tourist are, and what makes Serbia and Balkans so special and unique for all the newcomers. All these things have inspired me to become one of the professional private guide in Serbia and the Balkans. It is a pleasure for me to help tourists discover the beauty and charm of my beloved country. I am eager to share my experience and knowledge with all the people interested in culture and history of Serbia. It is worth noting that I offer a wide range of private tours. I organize various trips all around Serbia, but especially in Novi Sad and Belgrade. I can organize a tour for a big tourist group, but mostly I prefer to provide my service for smaller groups. In my opinion, private guiding gives you more opportunities to help tourists and travelers immerse into the the Serbian and Balkan culture. We can also visit some other ex-Yugoslavia and Balkan countries. You should note that besides my guiding service, I also provide transportation. It is very convenient because you won’t have to worry about how to get from one place to another; and more importantly, you’ll be able to save time for visiting more landmarks of beautiful Serbia. When I work with smaller groups, I have more opportunities to build trustful and closer relationships with my clients. I can take all their wishes and requests into consideration.
