Trip Info
Join us for this 20 day trekking challenge on one of the most beautiful hiking treks in the region! This challenging trek consists of 4 to 10 hours of hiking per day, on moderate to steep grades, with elevations ranging from 9,318ft to 18,176ft. While on the hike, you will experience 13 nights in Bhutanese-style hotels and 5 nights camping in tents. Don’t worry about carrying your gear – porters and pack animals will do the work for you!
We will meet you at the airport, and transfer you to your hotel in Paro. From there, we will drive to Drukgyel Dzong, also known as the fortress of the victorious Drukpas, with a beautiful view of the peak of Chomolhari, the “Mountain of Goddess,” in the distance. From here, our trek begins! While on the trek, we will pass through serene landscape: paddy fields, farm houses, ruined fortresses, snow capped mountain peaks, and valleys, all set against one of the most beautiful backdrops you could possibly imagine. We will also gain an understanding about the every day life for people in this region, such as yak herders and the yak winter settlements. Visiting the villages during your times of rest is highly recommended, as that is the ideal way to truly experience the local culture. Notable areas on this trek include the Taktsang Monastery, perched on a ledge with a drop of 4000ft, the Gasa Tsachu hot spring, the Laya village, and Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest fotresses in Bhutan. At the end of the trek, we will transport you back to the airport for your departing flight.
Your adventure awaits!
