Lake Bafa is 15 km in length, 10 km in width, 700 hectare and 25 m in depth. Its a fresh water lake but, a section of it contains salt.
On the lake, you’ll find sea bars, eels and carps. There is also a bird paradise with 208 breeds of birds such as pelicans, storks, etc. On the land there is agriculture (cotton, olive) and bee farming.
Come on this tour and learn about this history of Latmos or Herakleia, the original name of the town. It was built on a harbour on the skirts of Mount Latmos which is 1375 m high. The collapse of the city was brought upon by the meandering river which caused the connection of the bay and the sea to break off.
