Trip Info

The Badimalika Culture Trek is one of the newly opened trekking areas in Nepal. It is named after Badimalika Temple in the Bajura district of the far Western region of Nepal. The temple and surrounding area is one of the least visited trekking areas in Nepal, but is an important center for religious, cultural, historical and natural attractions.

The trekking area is also home to Khaptad National Park, one of Nepal’s smallest parks covering 225 squared-km. It is believed that an ascetic named Khaptad practiced yoga and spent his whole life meditating and discovering the spiritual and natural beauty of the place. The forest is of mixed tropical and alpine vegetation ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 meters in elevation. Throughout the forest you’ll find a number of different flowers, berries, herbs, birds and mammals.

The route is open throughout the year except for during snowfall in the winter. The maximum altitude climb along the route is 4,200 meters. The trail is yet to be fully developed as it lacks lodges and guesthouses as well as notice boards and other signs. However, with a local guide you will have a rich and exhilarating tour.
