Trip Info

Imnane and Imlil valley are like two sides of one coin – they are two faces of contemporary rural Morocco. During this two-day excursion, you will explore these two valleys with an experienced guide who can show you the interesting sites and teach you the history of the land.

Imlil valley represents the modern Morocco with its extensive developmental activities, construction of new buildings, shops, and restaurants. In contrast, Imnane valley is an area where people still maintain the old ways, making their living in agriculture, planting and herding. The massive terraced fields of this narrow valley, with a river stream splitting it in half, bring peace of mind and together, with great panoramic views from every pass, create a wonderful background for contemplation. Included in this trip is a Berber village where you can get to know more about the culture.

Let Pathfinderstreks help you plan your next memorable experience.

Rachid is an experienced mountain guide through the mountains of Morocco, safely guiding many tours and showing the majesty of the mountains. He organizes trekking trips within Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains emphasizing a community-friendly approach. His trekking options include Mount Toubkal ascent, walking the High Atlas valleys, and treks through Berber villages revealing the breathtaking quiet beauty of adjacent valleys. Our activities rely on the knowledge, strong limbs and hospitality of the Berber people, who work as local guides, muleteers and accommodation providers. We believe they are the people who can tell the most about their culture, traditions and way of life to make the whole trekking experience unique and authentic. As an organizer of community-friendly trekking, Rachid creates job opportunities for the locals and raises money for community projects.

Last week my family and I , the two -day Red Valley trek done with Rachid and Hamid . Rachid , the guide spoke very good English and gave us a wonderful impression of the mountains and the life given there. The trek was relatively easy for us , my girlfriend and I , and so he adapted specifically for our trekking and we are still climbed to an impressive waterfall. Hamid , the cook and muleteer , has also looked after three delicious meals for us on idyllic locations. In short, if you want to do a trek from Marrakech, Pathfinders is a real winner!
