  • Spend a day with Tetty: talk, cook at her home in Marousi, Athens, and visit “unknown” sites. Tetty Theodorou is your Hostess for the whole experience
  • Guests will enjoy a spiritual get-together, whereby they will visit various christian-orthodox chapels and small churches in the area.
  • They will then head back home, in order to enjoy a hands-on cooking experience, and have lunch with Tetty.
  • After that, an invigorating stroll to the little-known sites of Gazi and Kerameikos will give them the insider’s story of these two districts.

Tetty is a 50 years old writer, who has studied economics but loves writing about folklore and traditional culture. She leads a happy and quiet family life, and enjoys spending quality time with her guests.

Here’s how we’ll spend the day and what we’ll do together:

1. Spiritual get-together
Guests will spend a lot of time with Tetty, getting to know the story of a century-old small chapel that she owns. They will also visit other small and little-known churches and chapels in the area, learn their history and appreciate their unique architectural style and iconography.

2. Lunch at home
At noon, visitors will spend a few hours at Tetty’s kitchen, where they will learn how to prepare traditional home-made Greek dishes like stuffed tomatoes (“ntomates gemistes”). They will then all enjoy the delicious fruits of their labour and spend precious time on invigorating chit-chat.

3. Walk to “secret” Athens sites
Visitors will stroll around the Gazi district, which houses numerous small pubs, eateries and art centers, and learn the streets’ history. After that, a stroll down Kerameikos district will acquaint them with the origins and stories behind the local old industrial buildings of Athens.
