Trip Info

Experience why the Robertson area seems to calm the soul and rejuvenate your vitals with this wine tour. There are more than 50 odd wine estates within a 30 km radius just waiting to be experienced.

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel and the first stop is Marbrin Olive Farm. This boutique olive farm is a perfect way to start your day. The owner Clive will take you through tastings of different types of olive oils, olives and olive pastes.

Our next stop is the Zandvliet Wine Estate. Situated close to the small town of Ashton, this wine estate boasts some excellent wines. The story of Zandvliet is all about Shiraz, being one of South Africa’s first Shiraz producers, with a history that extends back to first plantings during the 1870’s.

We will then visit the Excelsior Wine Estate which has been owned by the de Wet family since 1870. It is the philosophy at Excelsior that good wine is made in the vineyards and the winemaker can only succeed if he has good basic ingredients with which to work. Visit the tasting facility with a setting of gorgeous views over the water, vines and mountains. Blend, bottle and label your own creation to take home.

Our next stop is Springfield Wine Estate! It is a family-run wine farm owned by ninth-generation descendants of French Huguenots. The current family owners are the 4th generation and are prepared to take risks to do what they love best, making wine. They and a team of dedicated workers, many of whom have been with the Bruwers for decades, maintain the vineyards and global marketing.

Last, but not least, we visit Graham Beck where winemaking is a combination of creative mediation and the expression of our passionate pursuit of perfection. Sample the outstanding Methode Cap Classique at Graham Beck. This bubbly wine is produced in the same way as French Champagne and is arguably of equal quality.
