Our new program this year takes us to Madrid, Barcelona, and San Sebastian that offer an amazing cornucopia of art, architecture, and culture for you to experience. Visit the fantastic Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao designed by Frank Gehry with a very unique collection of Modernism. San Sebastian in the Basque region is famous as a resort for the aristocracy, bursting with tapas bars and lined by beaches and beautiful grand hotels. Madrid is jam-packed with history and amazing museums like the Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Reina Sofia that hold stunning art collections with masterpieces by Velazquez, Goya, Bosch, Rubens, El Greco, Durer, Dali, Miro, and Picasso, including his monumental work “Guernica”. Enjoy a night of Flamenco dancing, a day trip to the Palace of El Escorial, home of the Spanish inquisition, the impressive Roman aqueduct in Segovia, and the splendid Alcazar Castle. In Barcelona, stroll the Barri Gotic, up the lively Rambla and experience the Museu Nacional d’Arte Catalunya, Museu Picasso, and the innovative Modernista Architecture of Gaudi that Barcelona is famous for, including the Sagrada Familia and the Park Guelle.
