Guide

Trip Info

Following traditional paths used for centuries by Tibetan traders, this 14-day, fully-supported trek to Annapurna Base Camp can only be described as breathtaking.

The Annapurna Sanctuary is revered for its unique beauty and spiritual significance. Encircled by a colossal ring of Himalayan giants, it is an incredible experience that draws trekkers from all corners of the globe. We journey with the help of our local, expert Nepalese staff. Their years of experience and commitment to excellence make this trip truly exceptional.

Our route takes us through remote villages, terraced fields, and forests of bamboo and chestnut trees. Along the way, we are treated to impressive mountain views and glimpses of local villagers. Our destination is the heart of the mountainous amphitheater that holds Annapurna Base Camp. Here, we enjoy 360° views of soaring peaks and a sense of immense exhilaration and solitude. Wake up to catch the sunrise over the Annapurna South–a breathtaking view that is not to be missed. Completing this trek is an unforgettable journey that few will ever experience.

Activities

This trip is rated Vigorous [4]. Participants should be prepared to hike 8-11 miles most days (usually 5-8 hours) with significant elevation gains and losses over uneven, rocky, and sometimes steep terrain. They should have experience backcountry camping with limited amenities. Gear will be carried by porters and/or pack animals, leaving members free to carry only a daypack. No technical climbing or other special abilities are required.

This trek spends several days at altitudes above 10,000’. The trails themselves are only moderate, but at these altitudes, and because of Nepal’s “up and down” topography, hiking will feel more strenuous. A good physical conditioning program must be undertaken several months in advance to get into shape.
