Trip Info

With an alluring broad spectrum of ethnic group cultures, natural diversity from lush valley up to alpine valley and arid peaks, and a varied terrain varying from 760m to 5,416m, awe inspiring scenery of alpine pastures, forests, farmed terraces, waterfalls, lakes, glaciers, Tibetan plateau, apple orchards, and mind–blowing views of snow–capped Annapurna massifs. Annapurna circuit trekking is widely renowned as one of the world’s best classic treks. Trek links the valley of the Marsyangdi River, cross the mighty Thorong La Pass (5416m), walk through the Kali Gandaki valley – the deepest gorge in the world, visit the holy pilgrimage site of Muktinath and have a relaxed soak in the hot springs at Tatopani.

Annapurna (8091m) is the tenth highest mountain in the world. Despite the controversy over continuing road construction, with the visit of over 100,000 trekkers in a year to this region, journey to Annapurna circuit is still greatest and most famous adventure destination in the world and second top of Nepal after Everest. Moreover, an amazing view of the world’s three highest mountains over 8000m and most beautiful six peaks over 7200m with Annapurna (8091m), Manaslu (8,156m), Dhaulagiri(8167m), Annapurna South I 7219m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, Lamjung himal (6,983m), Himalchuli (7893m), Machhapuchre (Fishtail) 6993m, Gangapurna Himal (7455m), Langtang Himal (7234m) and Mardi Himal (5587m) are just outstanding.

Trek in Annapurna circuit begins at Chame by continuing two days bus drive from Kathmandu. Trails from the lower valley to the Himalayan rain shadow near Muktinath surpass gradually through terraced rice fields, pine forests to the arid terrain. Upstream we enter into spectacular rhododendron forests; spring brings spectacular blooms, from red to pink to white, depending on altitude. Manang is the Buddhist country with around the captivating glaciers and lakes where we will see colorful prayer flags, mani walls and monasteries. Crossing the highest Thorung La Pass at 5,416m is a challenging but highly rewarding sense of accomplishment. Trek goes down exploring chortens, fossils, forts, shrines of pristine trans-Himalayan in the deep Kali Gandaki gorge located between the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs. After several days of hiking in the mountain, relaxing in the natural hot springs at Tatopani will really be an exceptional experience, our trek package completes at Pokhara.

Our 12 days Annapurna circuit trek itinerary is an alternative short trek to the 18 days Annapurna Circuit trekking that circumnavigates the entire Annapurna designed for the passionate trekkers having the ability to hike up to 6 to 7 hours a day and some days may require more walking hours too. “The Experience was Amazing! Annapurna Circuit Trekking”

I did the Annapurna circuit with DWT, travelling by myself with a guide (Bupal Gurung). The experience was amazing, especially crossing the Throng La pass at an altitude of over 5400m, and Bupal did a great job. Transport, accommodation and meals were all organized for me so I could focus on trekking instead of worrying about the details. The Annapurna circuit is must beautiful place,it is cold weather and high altitudes but I always felt safe. Having a guide was invaluable for communicating with local people, learning more about the culture, finding the shortcuts and dealing with the altitude. He watched me closely for signs of altitude sickness and was always looking out for my well being. Paul Gurung, the CEO of Discovery World Trekking is highly experienced and is one of the few to have summited Mt Everest. He organized everything for my month in Nepal and showed me the meaning of hospitality. Heading out for another trek in the Annapurna region in a few days. I would definitely recommend DWT!
