Trip Info

On this full day tour, you will explore Amphipoli, Philippi & Kavala.

We begin the tour departing from Thessaloniki for eastern Greece. After a stop for coffee at Moustheni, we will continue to Amphipolis where we will stop at the junction of the river Strymon for a traditional photo with the Lion of Amphipolis. From afar, we can see the signs of the current excavations. From here we will continue to the point where, for the very first time in Europe, Apostle St. Paul preached Christianity.

We will stop at Philippi, which holds a special position in the history of the world as the most famous battle of the Romans took place here: the battle of Philippoi. We will visit the site of the excavations (theater, basilicas, market, Egnatia Street, Apostle Pavlos’s prison, etc.), and the small, but wonderful, museum of Philippoi.

We continue our tour heading for the Baptistery of Lydia, where Lydia was baptized as a Christian. From there, we will arrive at one of the most beautiful cities of Northern Greece, Kavala.

We look forward to guiding you!
