This Jungle day tour is ideal for those who have a short time in Manaus and want to see a bit of the Amazon. Visit places like the spectacular meeting of the waters of the Rio Negro and the Solimões that form the Amazon River, swim with river dolphins, visit an indigenous community, and see the Victoria Amazonica (Amazon water lilies)!
Transportation, lunch, mineral water and bilingual tour guide are all included on this excellent Amazon day tour on the Rio Negro.
The Jungle Tour starts at 8:00 a.m. when you are picked up at your hotel. After meeting your guide you are taken to the port downtown where you take a speed boat to your first destination: visiting the Desano Indians. They are not wild, but still maintain their original way of life.
From there you go swimming with the dolphins in their natural habitat. Then down the river you go for about one hour. Your destination? A floating restaurant to have lunch. On the way you may see some wild animals.
After lunch you do a short walk during which you can see the giant water lilies. You will also have a chance to see the “Sumauma”, the biggest buttress tree in the world. You may see some monkeys too!
From there, you go to the meeting of the waters. The point where the Solimôes and the Negro rivers meet. Then from there, you are taken back to the port, a staff member of Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions will be waiting for you and will take you back to your hotel after the jungle tour.
