On this four-day private sightseeing tour, you will explore the Avenue of Volcanoes and Amazon Rainforest. You will also see ancient ruins and ride one of the most challenging railways in the world.
After meeting with your guide, you will be driven to Ingapirca to explore the most important archeological site in the country. Learn about the Inca culture as you walk the grounds. We will then travel to Alausi for lunch. After a delicious local cuisine, you will board the Devil’s Nose Train for an exciting ride.
Upon arrival in Sibambe, you will be treated to traditional performances by local people and see the amazing handicrafts as you learn of the culture. You will then return to Alausi for dinner and overnight.
The next morning, depart the charming town through the Avenue of Volcanoes. Enjoy stopping at Colta to see the first Ecuador church. This was also the first Spanish founded city here. As we continue, depending on the weather, you may be able to take pictures of gorgeous snow-capped mountains and see the highest peak in the country at Chimborazo.
We will check in and have a relaxing afternoon at Banos. Explore the city or unwind in the hotel hotsprings. An evening tour will take place before dinner and then we will retire for the night.
After breakfast, we will hike to the Treehouse. It is a site made world famous by a winning photo submission to the National Geographic magazine. Our tour continues as we visit several waterfalls. We will hike to the Pailon del Diablo waterfall. After lunch, you will have an opportunity to learn about local flora and fauna as we visit the Amazon Rainforest. We will return to Banos later that evening for dinner and overnight.
An early start in the morning will see us return to Cuenca.
